spirit garden Detroit

I never thought that one day I would find myself loving gardening so much that I needed to take a job
in Detroit to find out what was going on with the urban gardening movement. Fortunately the job I found
was through my Alma Mater, Oakland University, on a research project, run by Dr. Kerry Vachta, that will be
documenting seven community programs and their effort to expose the urban community youth to healthy
food, cooking and gardening. As I suspected, I am being exposed to a diverse community of creative and
passionate individuals. This page is my journey in sharing with you what I have found that I cannot believe
is not known by the larger metropolitan Detroit area. There is a movement happening and I can't wait to share it with you.
The people, the activities and the vision.
